The full document of WHO in English is available here.

The Committee met on June 4th to 7th, 2018 and came to the following conclusions :

1. There was sufficient evidence to proceed to a critical review of cannabis and related substances at the next ECDD meeting in November 2018.

2. The ECDD recommended that preparations considered to contain pure cannabidiol (CBD) not be placed under international drug control as the substance was found to have no psychoactive properties and, as such, presented no risk of potential abuse or dependence.

Which hemp is used to produce CBD oil?

CBD Oil is obtained from industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) which has been used for many years in medicine and recreation. In traditional Chinese medicine cannabis is known as “the pain-relieving plants”.
What are the bioactive substances in cannabis?

Hemp contains three types of bioactive molecules – flavonoids, terpenes and cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are at the heart of most discussions because of the existence of a substance known as THC (with is one of 140 cannabinoids) that causes psychotropic effects such as euphoria and disorientation. Other cannabinoids (CBD, CBG, CBN etc.) act mainly through the central and peripheral nervous system. They contain the highest number of CB1 receptors, responsible for the pain, mood, depression and regulate appetite. Canabiotic products do not contain THC. Other cannabinoids do not have any psychotropic effects.

What cannabinoids can be found in Canabiotic products

Canabiotic CBD products are made from natural cannabinoids which are extracted from organic hemp material grown in the EU.

Canabiotic extracts contain the full spectrum of cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenoids naturally occurring in cannabis (incl. CBD, CBDA, CBC, CBG, CBDV, BCP). Acid phytocannabinoids decarbonize to the corresponding neutral forms. The process takes place when the plant is mature, but it is most active if the plant is heated after picking. CBDA is the dominant phytocannabinoid which is found in fibrous Northern species of hemp. (Cannabis sativa L.). During carbonization the CBDA acidic form turns into a neutral form of CBD. CBD weakens the potential of THC side effects.
