Frequently Asked Questions
Is Canabiotic CBD oil legal?
Yes. According to the WHO ECDD’s July 2018 recommendations, CBD should not be controlled because no psychotropic effects were identified.
Because of increased consumption of cannabis products around the world and sufficient scientific evidence about using hemp products for therapeutic and medical purposes WHO for the first time in July 2018 analyzed cannabis use and presented recommendations to the United Nations (UN). The full document of WHO in English is available here.
The Committee met on June 4th to 7th, 2018 and came to the following conclusions :
1. There was sufficient evidence to proceed to a critical review of cannabis and related substances at the next ECDD meeting in November 2018.
2. The ECDD recommended that preparations considered to contain pure cannabidiol (CBD) not be placed under international drug control as the substance was found to have no psychoactive properties and, as such, presented no risk of potential abuse or dependence.
Which hemp is used to produce CBD oil?
CBD Oil is obtained from industrial hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) which has been used for many years in medicine and recreation. In traditional Chinese medicine cannabis is known as “the pain-relieving plants”.
What are the bioactive substances in cannabis?
Hemp contains three types of bioactive molecules – flavonoids, terpenes and cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are at the heart of most discussions because of the existence of a substance known as THC (with is one of 140 cannabinoids) that causes psychotropic effects such as euphoria and disorientation. Other cannabinoids (CBD, CBG, CBN etc.) act mainly through the central and peripheral nervous system. They contain the highest number of CB1 receptors, responsible for the pain, mood, depression and regulate appetite. Canabiotic products do not contain THC. Other cannabinoids do not have any psychotropic effects.
What cannabinoids can be found in Canabiotic products
Canabiotic CBD products are made from natural cannabinoids which are extracted from organic hemp material grown in the EU.
Canabiotic extracts contain the full spectrum of cannabinoids, flavonoids and terpenoids naturally occurring in cannabis (incl. CBD, CBDA, CBC, CBG, CBDV, BCP). Acid phytocannabinoids decarbonize to the corresponding neutral forms. The process takes place when the plant is mature, but it is most active if the plant is heated after picking. CBDA is the dominant phytocannabinoid which is found in fibrous Northern species of hemp. (Cannabis sativa L.). During carbonization the CBDA acidic form turns into a neutral form of CBD. CBD weakens the potential of THC side effects.

What is CBD and what are its effects?
Cannabidiol (CBD) is an endocannabinoid receptor CB1 agonist. It is an antitumoral agent and it facilitates catalepsy. It has an immunosuppressive, anti-inflammatory and antipsychotic effect. (Chakravarti B et al., 2014).
What is an endocannabinoid system?
It is believed that the endocannabinoid system is involved in the regulation of functions and processes like cognitive function, sleep, anxiety, depression, appetite regulation, addiction, neuroprotection, reproductive functions (fertility, embryo implantation and development), cardiac function and vasodilation, energy production and balance, peristalsis, endocrine and barrier functions of the intestine, immunomodulation, nausea and vomiting, eye pressure, bronchodilation, development of oncological diseases, bone remodeling, etc. (Zou et al., 2018).
Can hemp heal?
CBD oils and other products are Food supplements and are not intended to treat any disease. Therapeutic mechanisms for the treatment by cannabinoids have not been thoroughly investigated. But it is known that they work through the human endocannabinoid system which consists of endocannabinoids, cannabinoid receptors and endocannabinoid metabolism (Battista et al., 2006).
